BMC is one of the country’s leading performing arts academies. With over 25 years experience in acting, dancing and musical theatre, the academy has helped hundreds of performers develop their raw talent.
At BMC Academy of Arts we have a national reputation for excellence in training actors in Musical Theatre. Our course is designed to develop learner’s skills to the highest level and inspire them to achieve individual excellence in their specialism. The course aims to get the best out of our learners, improve their strengths and help them to become versatile, multi-skilled performers. We celebrate unique, individual performers and encourage this in all our learners.
We realise that Musical theatre is a very demanding art form. The tutors work hard to prepare learners for this sector of the industry by developing their dance, drama and singing skills, technical ability and understanding of the industry in relation to current practice.
We have 100% progression rates on to Higher education or employment and are very proud of all our learner’s success. Many of our learners have achieved coveted places at leading stage schools to study Musical Theatre at degree level. These include Mountview, Guildford, PPA, Urdang Dance Academy and Arden. Employment success includes working in children’s theatre, marketing, events management, touring companies, freelance artist work, cruise ships and holiday entertainment.
We create the opportunity for learners to train with external professional companies from the industry. Examples of this are workshops with The Professionals from Pineapple Dance studio working on the West End production of ‘Billy Eliot’. We feel these experiences are vital in sustaining links with the industry and ensuring learners have direct access to current practice.
