The course aims to develop skills and knowledge in zoo and exotic animal husbandry, animal welfare and behaviour as well as fostering a working knowledge of the animal industries.

A full-time 1 year course running over 4 days per week at college and 1 day on work experience in a related zoo, park or rescue centre.

5 GCSEs at grade C or above.

Career Progression

Many students go on to find work in rescue centres, research facilities, zoos, wildlife and farm parks, as well as in pet shops and other animal related establishments.
