Applying for a BMC course is easy, and there are three ways to choose from:
- Online – simply click on the ‘Apply for this course’ button on your chosen course page and complete and submit the application.
- Post – fill in the application form in the back of the course guide and post it to our Admissions Team at Brooksby Melton College, Asfordby Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0HJ.
- UCAS Progress – if you are in Year 11 and studying in a Leicestershire school, you may be able to apply through UCAS Progress, your school can support you with this.
What’s Happens Once I’ve Applied?
- Acknowledgement and Reference Letters
Once we have received your application you will receive a letter of acknowledgement. If you are under 16 at the time of applying, a reference form will be sent directly to your school. If you are 16 or above at the time of applying, we will send the reference form to you directly to pass on to your chosen referee to complete.
You will then be invited in for an interview with one of the course tutors. Please don’t worry about the interview! It is simply a chance for the tutors to assess your suitability for the course. It is also a chance for you to get a feel for BMC and to learn more about your chosen course.
You may be required to do some simple assessments, for example, Equine students may have a riding assessment, Hair and Beauty students will do a brush skills test, and Performing Arts students will participate in an audition.
Congratulations! If you are successful at interview you will be sent an offer letter and an acceptance form to fill in. You must then let us know as soon as possible whether you would like to accept your place with us.
You will have the opportunity to come in for taster sessions and open events throughout the academic year to help you get used to the College and get a feel for your course. We hope that these will be lots of fun and will help you to feel confident and comfortable when starting with us in September!
Joining us in September
You will receive your enrolment details in the post in August. This will tell you the date and time that you will need to come in to college to enrol. It will also include a list of important documents that you must bring with you to enrolment.
