College Redevelopment Plans

Brooksby Melton College (BMC) is looking forward to a brighter future for the College and students following the announcement of plans for a self financed incremental redevelopment.

The College, working alongside its development partner, Cedar House Investments, last month unveiled exciting plans for the redevelopment of the Melton Campus to include a supermarket and to facilitate the enhancement of the College’s facilities at Melton and Brooksby.

A planning application is scheduled to be submitted next month and the College and Cedar House will be holding a pre-planning application consultation regarding the regeneration proposal.

The consultation will be held at the Melton Campus on Thursday 27 May (2pm - 8pm) and Friday 28 May (10am - 4pm) where the local community will have an opportunity to view their proposals.

At the event, representatives from BMC and Cedar House Investments will be available to explain how the project will be delivered and to answer any questions regarding the new campus and the impact it may have on current and prospective students.

Chris Ball, College Principal, said:

“We are delighted to have such a well known and respected development partner as Cedar House Investments Ltd to realise our objective of developing a new and improved college, that will see long term benefits for the people of Melton and the Vale of Belvoir for years to come.”

Speaking about the regeneration of the College, Chris Carlisle, Managing Director for Cedar House Investments Ltd, added:

“We are delighted to be working as the College’s partner for this exciting redevelopment scheme. The project will facilitate further investment within Melton town centre and help to underpin the town’s retail offer.”

The college will be launching a new website in the coming weeks where you will be able to find out the latest news about the project as it is announced.
