A young apprentice from Brooksby Melton College (BMC) has been honoured for her hard work after being nominated for the Lincolnshire & Rutland Skills Awards . Emily Baines, 17, from Stocken, studies NVQ2 in business administration at BMC as well as working at IEP Management in Uppingham.
She was one of 13 finalists chosen out of 1,600 applicants for the Lincolnshire and Rutland Apprentice of the Year Awards. Although not winning, Emily was very happy to be shortlisted for the competition.
She said: “We had a ceremony and a meal at The Lawn in Lincoln and it was great experience.”
Her assessor Douglas Bonham said: “It has been a pleasure helping and supporting Emily with her apprenticeship. I have observed Emily at work and she is a credit to IEP Management by her professionalism and attention to detail.”
Emily added: “I’d encourage anyone to do an apprenticeship.”
