BMC brings beauty therapy to Melton library

Melton residents were treated to a very special morning at the Melton Library on November 1st as staff and students from the Reflections Salon at Brooksby Melton College provided a wide range of treatments entirely for free!

Students from Advanced Beauty Therapy were on hand to offer Indian head massages as well as theraputic hand and arm massages, and for those who fancied a bit of a manicure, students were able to develop their nail technology skills further through free file and paints.

Meanwhile, Advanced Hairdressing students were showcasing all the latest hair styles and trends including basic wind and hair up demonstrations.

Julie Walmsley, Head of Hair and Beauty at BMC told us: “As a vocational college it is always good to involve students in as many real-life and community driven activities as possible, we thought this was a great opportunity to show off our student talent and promote the variety of services on offer at our local salon.”

We also spoke to Carol, from Melton, who chose to have her nails done, she said: “It was a real surprise to come to the library and have a treatment, it will definitely make me think about booking into the Reflections Salon more often, I often forget we have such a good service right on the doorstep!"
