BMC students triumph at Melton and Loughborough Community World Cup
As the football fever reaches an all time high with the world cup in South Africa, BMC students recently took place in two football tournaments on home turf.
Back in May students competed in games held at the Goals centre in Leicester and in June a special tournament organised by the Charnwood Police force was held at Loughborough College.
The events focussed on disability and fair play, and BMC entered a squad of young sportsmen with learning difficulties, cerebral palsy and visual impairments. The results were fantastic; one team winning all the games at the Goals centre event.
At Loughborough, trophies were presented by Alan Birchinal of Leicester City Football Club and the Charnwood Police Commissioner.
BMC specialise in providing foundation learning for students with a wide range of special needs and learning requirements, offering a wide range of courses aimed at developing vocational and personal skills in areas such as horticulture, animal care and countryside management.
BMC has also just launched a brand new Outdoor Sports Academy, which includes football, golf and the very first national angling academy; keeping 16-19 year old players engaged with both sport and education.
