The aim of the course is to provide operators, both new and experienced, with an insight into safety awareness and risk assessment in order to reduce the likelihood of an accident occurring. Operator training is a legal requirement. There are three options available, Ride on Mowers, Pedestrian Mowers and Combined Mowers. The Pesticide Application course consists of one theory unit and one practical unit.

The PA1 Foundation Unit is a theory based course and covers the legislation, health and safety requirements, precautions, product label information and safe handling and use of pesticide application.
This unit must be completed before undertaking the PA6A practical units.

The PA6A unit covers the practical handling and safe use of pesticide application with hand held applicators using knapsack sprayers.

Please note you are only required to attend two days of training. On confirmation of booking it will state either to attend on the Monday & Tuesday or the Monday & Wednesday.

Completion of the PA course will enable individuals to be entered for the relevant National Proficiency Test Committee (NPTC) assessments organised by Brooksby Melton College.

Assessments do not take place during the training days, a convenient date will be organised for delegates to attend the assessments after the training days.

The PA2 Boom Sprayer course covers the practical handling of pesticide application using a hydraulic nozzle tractor mounted or trailer sprayer.
