Brooksby Melton College is a small to
medium size further education college in Leicestershire and
we’re spread across three main campuses – two in the lively
market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on a beautiful
850 acre estate, just 6 miles from town. The college is

General Assistant (Catering,
Part-Time)
Salary: £124.40 per week
Hours: 20 hours per week (two week rolling
schedule); term-time only

Job Description
Person Specification
We are seeking to recruit two part-time General
Assistants to support our Hotel and Catering Service during
the college’s term time. Supporting our team of chefs, and
undertaking both kitchen and service-based tasks, you will
perform a key role in the delivery of food services at the
college.
You
will be required to support the activities of the kitchen,
preparing, cooking and delivering food to the highest
standards, whilst maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of
the area and equipment. You will be customer-focussed,
maintain consistently high standards and ideally have
previous experience of working in a commercial kitchen or
similar environment.
To be successful you must be able and willing to be
flexible in your working hours, days and location as you
need to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days. You will
mostly be required to work at our Melton campus between
10.30am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday; although fortnightly
you will work one day from 7.30am to 3.00pm. You may,
however, be required to work on occasional weekends and
statutory holidays at our Brooksby campus, according to the
demands of our commercial events bookings.
This post requires us to carry out criminal record
background checks through the Criminal Records Bureau.
