Person Specification
Brooksby Melton College is seeking to recruit a full-time Apprentice to work in our Land-based Service Engineering department on a fixed term contract.
The successful candidate will prepare machinery and equipment for land-based courses, carry out repairs under supervision, and support the technician and lecturing staff as required.
The successful candidate will receive excellent training and support through the college Work-based Learning Team to undertake an NVQ level 2 qualification in Land-based Service Engineering. The opportunity to continue to the level 3 qualification (Advanced Apprenticeship) may also be considered, therefore a commitment to ongoing development is essential.
To succeed in this area, a good level of mechanical skill and the ability to work from technical manuals is essential, as well as a thorough understanding of agricultural principles and plenty of technical know-how.
Applicants should possess a good standard of general education
and NVQ Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (or be willing to work towards an equivalent level of achievement).They must also be able to demonstrate an interest in the work/subject area. A full driving licence and use of transport would be desirable.
