The SMB Group’s Equine Rehabilitation facilitates, and their resident horse, Sooty, have recently been featured in Anatomy in Action – an exciting new multimedia publication from Horses Inside Out.

The Brooksby Equine Rehabilitation Centre, which is situated at the SMB Group’s Brooksby Campus, provided the perfect setting for recording overhead footage of Sooty on the college’s Activo-Med Aqua treadmill, enabling the team to study back movement from above.

Anatomy in Action, which provides a comprehensive anatomical study of horse movement, officially launched last month. The product of over five years of work, this exciting new publication is a   photographic record of horse movement, accompanied by biomechanical explanations and key observations. There are also corresponding videos available, which feature detailed voice-over explanations.

Rachel Watson, Section Manager for Equine at the SMB Group said ‘The Equine Department were excited to see Gillian at the centre once again to use our fantastic facilities. It is always great to see such a skilled professional working with our own horses. Sooty thoroughly enjoyed the session and felt like he was being pampered during the whole process. Gillian is always welcome here at the SMB Group’.
