The sports industry is one of the fastest growing industries, with a variety of job opportunities available.

Students who take this course can choose from three pathways; rugby, football or leadership. Students develop expertise in their chosen areas through opportunities with sports clubs and local organisations.

We also run Sports academies with Mansfield Town FC, Leicester Tigers Rugby and Leicester City Women FC. If you are applying for any of these pathways please make this clear in your personal statement. If you are applying for the Mansfield Academy, please state which group you are applying for (EPPP, Residential, Performance or Mansfield at Mansfield).

Leicester Tigers Rugby Pathway

We are now taking applications for the BMC Sport Tigers Rugby pathway that will include 10 hours of rugby per week included within the timetable, receiving coaching from Leicester Tigers. If the Tigers are impressed with your training and performances in games, there is the opportunity to progress into the AASE squad and even the Academy.

This option is open to all standards of rugby and the coaching will ensure that individual development takes place, with strength and conditioning and analysis sessions in the timetable. You will study a Level 3 BTEC Sport or Sports Science alongside Rugby, with games taking place on a Wednesday afternoon. The course is equivalent to three A levels and will give you UCAS points, meaning that you will be able to progress onto university.

If you are applying for the Leicester Tigers pathway please make this clear in your personal statement.
