Your future

Alternatively, students may choose to progress onto an apprenticeship or directly into employment within the Sports industry. Employment opportunities include Sports Coaching, Personal Training or becoming a Fitness Instructor.
Entry requirements
5 GCSE’s at Grade C/4 or above including English and Maths (Science also desirable but not essential) OR Level 2 Sport and Level 2 Functional Skills.

Course Details
The sports industry is one of the fastest growing industries, with a variety of job opportunities available.
Students who take this course can choose from one of four pathways; rugby, football, netball or leadership. Students develop expertise in their chosen area through opportunities with sports clubs and local organisations.

- Functional Anatomy
- Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology
- Applied Research Methods
- Coaching for Performance and Fitness
- Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise Science
- Specialised Fitness Training
Year 2:
- Physiology
- Field and Lab based fitness testing
- Physical Activity for Individual and Group based Exercise
- Sports Massage
- Nutrition for Performance
- Sports Injury and Assessment
- Research Project
Sports Academies
Here at BMC, we work with Leicester Tigers, Leicester City Women FC, Charnwood and Rutland Netball Club and Mansfield Town FC to offer our students the chance to play the sport they love alongside studying for their qualification.

Please note: For the 2021-22 academic year, a college bus will be available from Stephenson College in Coalville for those who wish to study this course. We also have BMC bus routes covering many areas of Leicestershire and surrounding counties.
