Leicester City Women Football Club have a well-established partnership with Brooksby Melton College (part of the SMB Group), offering female football players the opportunity to study a Sports course with the College, whilst receiving professional coaching from the FA Women’s Championship football club.

If you have a passion for football, the club are offering you the opportunity to attend an exclusive Virtual Open Day, taking place on Tuesday 16th March, from 17:00 – 19:00.

The event will take place on Microsoft Teams and you should head to the BMC website to sign up.

As well as BMC’s expert tutors, a first team coach and current players will be available throughout the event to answer any questions you may have.

The partnership between BMC and Leicester City Women FC provides talented young female footballers with the opportunity to progress into professional women’s football with LCWFC, such as former student Paige Bailey-Gale, who now plays for the club’s first team.

Based at the 850-acre Brooksby Campus, the college’s £3.6million sports complex includes a full-size 3G all-weather pitch, four full-size grass rugby pitches, sports science lab, strength and conditioning gym, sports hall and more.

The College also offers excellent transport options across the East Midlands and fully-catered accommodation for those who wish to stay on-site during the week.

Andy Graham, Section Manager for Sport said, “Our partnership with Leicester City Women FC is such a great opportunity for the talented female football players we have studying with us every year. Not only do they benefit from expert coaching, but learners also get to study in a nurturing environment with professional-standard facilities and high-quality teaching.”

Unlike competing programmes where a 2-3 year route is offered for Level 2 or 3 Sport or Level 3 Sports Science, BMC can provide a 5 year route which gives players the opportunity to continue to combine Football with their studies as they earn a degree, accredited by the University of East Anglia.
Sports Degrees include Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, and Coaching and Performance Analysis.

The aim of this programme is to support players in their development as elite players, helping them to develop lifelong skills both within the football arena and out.
The programme will discover and develop the potential within each player through engagement with their technical, tactical, physical, mental and academic thought processes.

As well as the campus’ fantastic facilities, Leicester City Women FC students will also benefit from a Sports Analyst and Psychologist, Personal Trainers, Nutrition and Dietitian Specialists and a Personal Educational and Football Development Plan.
