Budding female footballers now have the opportunity to register for the brand new Leicester City Women FC Education Programme at Brooksby Melton College.
Students starting at BMC in September 2018 will have the opportunity to be a part of this new education programme, where they will benefit from 8-10 hours per week of high quality football training from Leicester City Women’s coaches.
This programme offers students the chance to play for a number of Leicester City Women’s teams, with a potential of even being selected for the First Team. They will also have the opportunity to be a part of the BMC female football team in the AoC league.
Students can take part in the Leicester City Women’s football programme whilst undertaking any of the full-time Further Education or Degree level courses at BMC. If students choose to study a course at the Melton Campus, a minibus will be available to transport them to their training sessions at the Brooksby Campus.
James Thorne, Programme Team Manager for Sport at BMC, commented ‘We aim to provide an outstanding football education model where we put education first with the bonus of in depth football training throughout the week. We aim for the players to become the best they possibly can, with the desired aim of becoming an elite player and developing lifelong skills both within the football arena and out.’
BMC’s Brooksby Campus already houses the Leicester Tigers Rugby Academy and the Mansfield Town Football Academy, who use the facility for their own education programmes, which run in partnership with the College. Students who train at BMC’s Brooksby Campus have access to a 3G all-weather pitch, strength and conditioning gym, Sports Hall, and a range of training and performance analysis activities.
