The Netball Academy, in partnership with Warriors – Charnwood Rutland Netball Club – is designed for students aged 16-18 who wish to develop their Netball skills alongside full-time education. All students who successfully register for the academy will study either Level 2 Sport, Level 3 Sport, or Level 3 Sports Science, depending on their previous achievements.
Our Netball Academy focuses on participation for all, with the team playing in the AoC League.
There is also potential for a further development team to play in a different league. Both options provide a comprehensive Netball pathway for students looking to progress in the sport.
At Brooksby Melton College, our learners are firmly placed at the heart of everything we do and our courses reflect this. Our Netball Academy is both flexible and supportive, to ensure that students succeed in their education and their sport.
All Academy players have access to a high level of Netball coaching, a personalised Strength and Conditioning programme, Performance Analysis, Sports Psychology support as well as Sports Injury and Rehabilitation.

About Charnwood Rutland Netball Club
Charnwood Rutland Netball Club launched in 2017 following a merger of two of the biggest and most successful clubs in the region (Charnwood Sapphires in Loughborough and Rutland Rockets in Oakham). The merger made them the biggest club in the East Midlands with 220+ playing members.
They train players from the age of 8+ into adulthood, offering both a performance and development pathway. The club has 20 teams playing in various local leagues in Leicester and Loughborough. The club is also renowned for its regional strength with teams in the East Midlands regional league and two U16 and U14 teams in the top East Midlands league.
The first team gained National premier league status this season and the U16 performance team came an impressive 3rd Place in the U16 National Clubs Finals.
