SMB College Group’s Rural Catering Centre is set to re-open on Tuesday 18th May, offering three course lunches, fine dining experiences, quiz nights and themed evenings – and now you can book your table online!
The Rural Catering Centre, which serves as a training restaurant for the college’s Catering and Hospitality students and apprentices, has been closed since last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
They will be re-opening next week with a number of COVID-secure measures in place, including socially distanced tables, sanitising stations, and a one-way entrance and exit system. In addition, staff and students will wear masks, and guests will be advised to wear masks when not seated at their table.
The restaurant, which is situated at the college’s Melton Campus, will be open during term-time on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes (service between 12 – 1pm), when they will be offering a three-course lunch menu including ‘Pie Day’ on Tuesdays, a traditional lunch on Wednesdays, and a carvery on Fridays.
In addition, an exciting mixture of fine dining, quiz nights and themed evenings will be on offer every Thursday, with service available from 6:30 – 7pm.

The Rural Catering Centre opened in 2015 after an investment of £27.7million across the college’s Brooksby and Melton campuses. The SMB College Group’s Catering and Hospitality students benefit from learning in this industry-standard commercial restaurant and kitchen facility, allowing them to develop the skills required by this dynamic, exciting and ever-growing industry.
